DIY: Ice Cube Facial
My facialist always tells me to wash my face with warm water to open up my pores and then splash, rinse with ice cold water to close up my pores. So the ice cube facial TOTALLY makes sense! Here is one of my favorite Chinese beauty guru Queenie. It’s kinda hard to watch with sound because I don’t understand her. But the video and subtitle explains it all.
Keep reading to learn how to do it yourself at home!
Another fav guru: MICHELLE PHAN!
What you need:
- Warm water
- Green Tea
- Soft gel Vitamin EInstructions:
Step 1: Warm up water
Step 2: Steep your green tea
Step 3: Stir in your soft gel vitamin E
Step 4: Freeze (for about an hour) in ice cube tray till it starts crystallizing
Step 5: Insert tooth pick and let harden over night
Your green tea popsicles are ready to beautify you. What a brilliant way to get salon results with a fraction of the price!
Have you ever tried an ice cube facial? If so, how did the results turn out?

:D ice!
I thought the rapper Ice Cube was actually giving facials. That is why I clicked to read this entry. You got me again Lovelyish.
it's easier to cover the ice tray with foil/plastic wrap and poke in the toothpick, rather than waiting for the right moment to insert the toothpick.
Sorry, warm/cold water "opening/closing" your pores is a load of shit(i used to think that too). There's a huge misconception about that. Only people with drier skin tend to have smaller/tighter pores. Pore appearance is also a hereditary thing, and is also dependent on your skin's past(such as acne, etc).
Just clean your pores frequently and use egg masks(temporary), clay masks(temporary) and alcohol astringents (though, it will be drying so people with dry skin should steer away from alcohol-based products.). Cleaning your pores will only reduce the *appearance* of pores, but their size will remain the same. There isn't a permanent fix.
Also, the contents in the capsule is not entirely Vitamin E, it is oil with vitamin E in it. And those ones that she has are fat-soluble, which will require ingestion for it to even help with anything at all. The molecules are also too big to be absorbed by your skin. Your skin is just absorbing the water from the melted ice.
One should do their own research before believing what other people say.
@LeeKymKween@xanga - I agree, washing with hot or cold water is terrible for your skin especially one right after the other. This causes blood vessels to expand and then contract which over time will damage them and cause broken capillaries over your face. Not attractive.
However, I have to disagree with you on the alcohol astringents. No one should use astringent, only alcohol-free toner. Alcohol is waaay too drying for any skin type and strips your protective acid mantle, leaving it more susceptible to irriation and damage
@missash0816@revelife - yeah, i'll agree with you on the alcohol thing. I know it is drying(from horrible horrible experience... and then confirming it in chem class -.- ) but i know a friend who uses alcohol-based toner and actually likes what it has done for her face and there are people who swear by clinique's 3-step plan with the alcohol-based toner. I guess everybody's skin is different.
Instead of using liquid vitamin e gel tabs, can't you just use abit of vitamin e oil?
