I am packing for a flight (visiting family) and the biggest pain is deciding what essentials I should pack in my cosmetics bag. Airports have all these limitations on what you can carry on so I have to limit my beauty items! My necessities are:
- Burt Bee's lip balm
- BareEscentuals Mineral Veil
- Dove Facials Cloths
- Cetaphil SPF moisturizer
- Clinique pencil eyeliner
- Eyebrow/lash brush
- Waterproof mascara (this time, Maybelline Stiletto)
- Makeup remover wipes
What are the essentials you pack for a trip?

I don't think you need anything like that on a plane. No one cares what you look like. Or smell like. Now if it were a 12+ hour flight, maybe you would need some lip balm and some wipes or something, but seriously.

@cutesycharm@xanga - I dont think you got the point of this post she doesnt mean a cosmetic bag just to look good on the plane she meant to take with you while you travel...likee vacation or something you need to bring a cosmetic bag to bring all your essential makeups and things so you can get ready every morning while you are away....or do you not travel? or wear any makeup?....your misunderstanding baffles me
To a plane you should invest in thick intensive moisturizers since the worst effect from airplane trips is the dryness, I had a recent 12-hours long airplane trip and was about to meet my long-distance boyfriend right at the airport so of course I wanted to look gorgeous! So I separated my carry-ons into four different small bags inside of a bigger bag, as follows:
- Comfort bag - neckpillow, eye shades, earplugs
- Cosmetic bag - miniature samples from HEAVY moisturizers, hand moisturizer, lipbalm (Bepanthen), makeup remover wipes, soft facewash gel, mascara, lip gloss, cream blush, light concealer, thermal water, toothbrush / toothpaste, deodorant, parfum
- Entertainment bag - books, magazines, paper, pen, Ipod
- The "important" one - passport, tickets, money
Most important beauty resource at a plane trip: drink lots of water! The fight attendant I talked to recommended 1 liter of water per hour flown. The air inside of an airplane is drier than a desert!!
P.s.Don't know where you're traveling to but the EU-countries won't allow you to carry in airplanes bottles with more than 100 mls and everything fluid should be kept inside of a ziplock.I know I went a little off-topic, just thought this could be useful x)
it depends on how long i'm staying, but what i carry in my makeup bag on a daily basis is:
hand lotion
lip balm
compact mirror
oil swipes
eye drops (for my contact lenses)
1 or 2 tampons
bobby pin
hair tie
gum
perfume (mini demo bottles actually do have some use!)
Currently in my wallet/cosmetics bag (it's like a clutch that I use for both functions), I have mascara, chapstick, concealer, eyeshadow and tweezers.
On trips, I usually bring a larger bag so I can also put my liquid and mineral foundations in the same container along with everything else. I like to have a small bottle of liquid Cetaphil facial cleanser with me, too.
pads and chap stick. i don't wear make-up.
extra hair ties/bobbie pins
eye shadow palette
mascara
eyeliner
coverup
mirror/brush
first aid kit/tampons
gum
burts beessss
hand lotion/sanitizer (if they allow that), kleanex
sometimes my wallet if I want to use bag as a clutch for quicker access.
i usually take my seaweed face wash and toner, black eye liner, black mac mascara, lipgloss, blush, a small mac palette for eye shadow, primer, foundation, and pressed powder.
lol nothing
il get one :)
