Recently, there was a post on Lovelyish that claimed that urine can be used to help cure acne. I was pretty grossed out. But, I read another option for those who don't want to go that route. Strawberries! Yes, strawberries.
According to Janice Cox, author of "Natural Beauty at Home" strawberries are a natural source of salicyclic acid, which is used in acne treatment products. The recipe is:
1/4 cup fresh strawberries
1/4 cup sour cream (or yogurt)
Mash them up together, spread it on your clean face, let sit for 15 minutes and then rinse well.
Have you tried this recipe before? Do you have your own at home treatment for acne?

Vitamin C is good for your face, so strawberries could have a chance of working! Have you tried it personally?
i'll usually only get like a pimple or two when i break out, so i use good ol' toothpaste to dry it out.
awesome. going to try that out really soon!
HAHAHA i love the title.
YAY!! Strawberries are one of my favorite fruits :)
Well..i like to eat them...not put them on my face
i want to try this. i love strawberries. theyre my favorite fruit :)
i wonder if you get the 'good skin benifits' from eating them. lol
Sounds yummy = )
I would eat the strawberries before they got my my face lol
dude, if you want beautiful skin using natural products go to: http://www.wien-vienna.com/sissi.php
the 'formulas' are listed under the ad. not very far down the page. it starts with 'against freckles' (the empress was very much against them, lol)
i can't. there'd be no more for me to use, because i love strawberries. i'd just eat them all. but i don't break out much so...:D
Is this implying that I can put strawberry yogurt on my face?
i actually eat that... (no really, i do)
mash up the strawberries and sour cream with some sugar and you have a really good snack! haha
I was inlove with this post until i read that i had to mash em' on my face. I was hoping it would work by eating it. <3
Skin health comes from washing your face daily and keeping it tight by providing your body with enough collagen. So I personally rarely have skin problems because I eat a great deal of collagen rich foods such as: kale, spinach, asparagus, beets, dark berries. If you get enough omega-3 you'll also have better skin. Plus a nice toner, and a good lotion is all you should ever need for your face. But then I rarely wear make-up, so there's very little to get into my pores. Putting food on my face to make it healthy, makes me feel weird...not to mention, wouldn't that be sticky?
hmm i'll try this.
I use the aspirin mask and this mask alternatively. They work well!
ive heard that plain yogurt, oatmeal and i think honey helps with cleansing the skin ?
i've tried that! except i mashed it with banana as well, and used soy yogurt. it really made my skin feel soft and smooth!
I'd rather eat the strawberries and yoghurt than put it on my face. I do egg masks weekly though.
Sounds legit. =)
Wouldn't that stain your face pink?
cool. i will try this :)
sounds feasible :O
x
tried it!
my skin became smooth =D and more translucent.. and more eventoned
the acid from the strawberries even out your tone, the yogurt makes it more smooth
Ah but then I'd like to eat them afterwards and that seems a weird thing to eat. Face-slathered cream. I do like Michelle Phan's egg mask facial and tomato scrub though!
