New Fall Styles For Your Nails
In September's InStyle issue there was a section about Beauty Trends. I found most seemed to involve nail polish.
They gave props to Lauren Conrad for doing ombre nails, going from a dark red to a light pink on one hand. I wasn’t sure how I felt about trying that one.
In the magazine, InStyle pictured a “moon manicure,” which is like the reverse of the French. I tore the page out to bring to a nail salon because I wanted to try the style on my nail’s for my cousin’s wedding. They told me promptly they could not do this style. So I did a DIY at home technique using the French manicure strips which I found at Wal-Mart for under $2.
It didn’t turn out as stunning as it looked on the model but I like this retro style. What do you think?

looks good, I like the normal french manicure to but I use different colours on the tips
The "moon manicure", I do this when I was a teenager, alone. I think it's pretty. It's so strange that a "nail salon" could not make this !!
I hate the last picture, but it's a "color" opinion, since I'm not a huge fan of mustard or gold yellow . In black and white, purple + light pink i's pretty.
Kind of interesting, but I don't know if I'd put in the time and effort to create an ombre look. I can be quite a perfectionist so every nail would have to be perfect lol. The look is different though, so I'd like it time to time, but always.
I always have on acrylics, but these are really cute ideas for short natural nails.
Love Lauren's, though.
i like it but it just seems like so much work lol.
The pink to red is kinda arty and cool with the right outfit.
Powerpoints look gross! The change in color looks like unhealthy nail beds!
I like Lauren's..
I love getting manicures. The moon manicure looks pretty cool.
i saw this and wanted to try it! thanks for reminding me lol
you did a good job :) it looks cool
Next time, try cold blue color, and platinum moon... Might work better for your hands.
Ooooohh I wanna try Lauren's gradient colors...
I used to do this all the time :D
scary
For me, the moon manicure is a bit of a hit or a miss. I really can't imagine doing my nails like that. :P
Lauren's is a bit juvenile. At least it's not orange, blue, and green though.
urs looks pretty good.. probably just looks a bit diff because your nails are shorter.
i like the moon manicure! hmm i wonder if there is a nail place by me that does it...
I think the moon manicure looks a little strange.
I do something similar to the "moon manicure". I didn't know that that's what it's called...interesting. Haha.
Meh. I'm not into innovative nail art.
i like. :)
NO.
dont like . ehh very plain boring & simple
i don't really know what to think about it. i'm a pretty simple girl so i usually go for clear nail polish.
My 8 year old daughter has been painting her nails various colors in order since she was like 3 and could hold the nail wand. I'm glad that Hollywood glam has caught up to my trend-setting kid! *LOL*
As for the moonicure... interesting really... I could see where you could dress it up or down.
i LOVE that style, tried it myself and got loads of compliments!
