  • Beauty Products Are Too Much Hassle!

Beauty Products Are Too Much Hassle!

There are many days where I honestly feel like rolling out of bed skipping the shower and just spending the day in PJ's and a ponytail. But then I remember that I actually have to go out and get things done, and i need to look presentable to do it.

I'm generally a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl so getting dressed is hardly ever a problem, but it's all the other stuff that I find to be more annoying to do day after day. I have a basic makeup routine, just some gloss, shadow, and mascara, but then sometimes during the day I feel like even that is too much. I itch my eye and my shadow is gone and my mascara has gone crazy. and when i have a late night, washing off the smeared makeup is such a chore that i quite often just skip washing it off all together (which is know isnt very good for my skin, or my eyes)

Hair is also quite simple, air dry and maybe a clip, or some light hairspray to fix the unruly bangs, but when i let someone else do my hair (which someone did this morning)  the amount of product used, while making my hair look great for the day, makes it all thick and sticky by the end and i dont even like running my hands through it.

Are all products too much work for their benefit? Do you know of any low maintenance products to replace the ones with so much hassle?

    i wished i knew, but i don't.

Foundation, eyeliner, hair is sloppy bun.

    I'm good.

You can look presentable without doing anything to the hair.
I don't really need products for my hair. I have them sitting on my desk. I only use what's good for my hair for now... like serum.

If I don't feel like taking off makeup at the end of the day, I avoid makeup altogether. And usually, that's just eyeliner.

    as simple as possible..

You can always sleep with braids/buns after you shower to have a wavy look when you wake up in the morning. Unless your hair is really straight and slippery, you wont need to add any products in your hair. Therefore, you won't have to suffer through hard, sticky hair throughout the day. You can also wear decorated headbands and clips, as aforementioned, to spice up your plain look. I hope this helps somewhat. You don't always need a massive amount of products to have nice hair.

yuck. I wish I had an answer.

I hate getting pretty every day. But I feel like i have to. If i go to school looking like crap I'll get picked apart by buzzards. not litterally but thats what high school feels like for me.

the mean girls. the buzzards. just waiting for me to slip up.

for sure ! they are a hassle -__-"
i saw this grade9 at school where she was in the washroom
and asking her friend for the "product" and then they whip out this gigantic bottle of hairspray o_o and her hair was already teased to the max -___-"

Woot for being the same! I wish I could go to school in sweats and a t-shirt, but that just isn't done at my school. -3- Damn rich kids. I don't like putting on make up at all, but because everyone COATS it on, I feel like I have to. I just put a liiiiitle bit of black eyeliner on the corners of my eyes and some clear mascara. That way I can scratch my eye if I want. :]

I don't use much in the way of makeup or hair products.  Whenever I want to use hairsprays, I first spray them into my hand and then apply them that way.  It ends up with a much sleeker (and less crunchy) look.  I only use mascara, and recently discovered waterproof, which is the best thing ever.  Other than that, I really don't use anything.

to make the eyeshadow stay on, definitly try eyeshadow primer! its the greatest thing since sliced bread! seriously! amnd it makes your eyeshadow look brighter and better then without. ummm makeup remover is a one-step thing...for hair, (mine is reallyyyy thick) just use pantene smooth-its inexpensive and actually works and smells amazing (you've seen those annoying stacey london commercials)

  • xx_ng_xx@xanga

i just use concealer, mascara and hairspray and the straightening iron. Sometime when you put on mascara, it works as an extra eyeliner :)

  • sunshineeBABY@xanga

yes its a hassle . so my morning routine is now
    - toner (skipped the cleanser step - only doing it at night)
    - moisturizing face cream
    - consealer
    - eyeliner - on top
    - mascara

The only thing I can think of the make up remover wipes. At least you don't have to wash your face at night, leave em next to your alarm clock, wipe and toss. Easy.

  • SamiiSaysHaii@xanga

The problem with some makeup remover pads, is that they can make your skin break out if they have oils in it. And they can mess with the pH levels in your skin, too ! So I wouldn't advise them all the time, unless your skin isn't prone to breaking out !

    My morning routine is:

wash face, concealer, foundation, bronzer [I'm pretty white >.>], eyeliner [just a little on top and bottom. Sometimes none at all !, mascara [sometimes]

and for hair is: heat protectant spray, straightener, hair dryer [for my unruly bangs and to give a little life to my layers], hairspray, and smoothing serum
It looks like a lot, I know. But it actually doesn't take me that long !

A lot of people at school don't wear makeup, a lot wear a little, and plenty wear a lot ! ahaha My eyes look really small without some eyeliner, so I try to put it on every day, but some days I just say screw it and wear none. :]

.. i actually heard of semi permanent eyeliner, lip colour and eyebrows ( like filling in eyebrows i think ) , they last for about 3 months or so. my aunt always does those and it looks really natural and great , all she has to do in the morning is brush her hair put on a bit of foundation and she's done .

my morning routine is pretty fast , takes less then 10 minutes . i usually wash my hair at night so that's already better because i can just take a shower instead of washing my hair too . i usually wash my face then moisturise. bbcream , maybe foundation if i feel like it , a bit of eyeliner and i'm done . as for hair , i just leave mines straight (:

  • snapeful@xanga

haha yeah unless i'm actually not lazy or have lots of free time, i'll probably just put on eyeliner/shadow (it smears less and doesn't go into your eye as much as mascara... or at least for me), some blush, and some chapstick for the most part. i have bangs so i dont hav e to do my eyebrows XD

but yeah most of the time i just don't wear makeup. i mean, i'm just going to school -- who am i trying to impress? my work place is a casual place, i just have to wear jeans instead of shorts and we all have a tshirt. so it's pretty chill. unless i'm going clubbing or something.

  • curiousxpolie@xanga

I'm not so crazy about beauty products either.

  • jesuismir@xanga

if you seriously feel super lazy, but want to look sharp: fill in your brows, earrings, and tie your hair back, pick out your clothes the night before (i make "emergency sets" just in case I'm super lazy at night/in the morning) . Optional: eyeliner & braiding your hair the night before.

    yep. that's about it. :]

  • LadyLioness1973@xanga

how about this for an idea? don't wear makeup all the time. It's better for your face. You a moisturizer, dab on some foundation where you NEED it and that's it,and pop some gloss on.That's all you need.NATURAL Beauty is always better!

  • LadyLioness1973@xanga

oh yes! and fill your eyebrows lightly and light eyeliner...

  • indiabrittany@xanga

i use shampoo, conditioner, and frizz ease and that's it usually

if i'm going through a chi phase, i use their shampoo, conditioner, keratin spray, silk infusion... basically all their products. and i think it smells so sexy :]

  • huu_am_eye@xanga

    heres an idea.....

    all natural.

      gasp, i know.

wake up, shower, finger comb the hair and go.  the most i ever do is have a hairband on my wrist and lip balm in my pocket if either start to bug me.
