Shu Uemura Tokyo Lash Bar 2009 Launch Event

Shu Uemura's Lashes in Nature for the Tokyo Lash Bar 2009 collection are guaranteed to excite even Mother Nature herself. Created by Shu Uemura's team of international makeup masters are eight designs of eyelashes inspired by the natural world. The lashes range from the extraordinary masterpieces to the more wearable for those with less courage.

Shu Uemura Malaysia launched Lashes in Nature yesterday at Mid Valley Megamall and I had the privilege to be a part of the event alongside friends and celebrities/socialites whom I can't put names to. It's always just the face that seems familiar...

Guests get to pick a pair of Shu Uemura lashes and have them put on by the makeup artists

Quite a crowd but of course, those with the big guns got front row. You'd have to excuse my crappy compact camera pictures. Amber Chia debuted the fashion show wearing Goldglam Leaf lashes.

That's definitely not my thing. I stick with regular? fake lashes.

its very pretty....but i don't think i can just wear them out on a normal day..and i hardly have any BIG event to go to where i can wear those lashes....

omg. I LOVE the huge, attention grabbing lashes. However, they're something I've been recently getting into. Plain falsies are very bland, I'd rather just apply 7 layers of mascara to achieve the effect.

they look super fake. i think that when applied correctly falsies can look absolutely gorgeous but that just seems like way too much.

They look like something fun I could wear to a mascarade party...lol..but I don't think I could wear them in everyday life..I can't even wear the regular fake ones..I have no clue how to put them on

They're so unnatural and strange, even the normal ones. A few of those looked like the women had some sort of horrible disease around their eyes.

I loved them! My lashes are ridiculously long and curled and look fake when I just wear mascara, so I don't think I would wear those myself. However, I would LOVE to photograph someone else wearing them!

The woman in the first picture kind of looks like she has some sort of flesh eating disease on her eye...

But those seem like they'd be fun if you had a reason to wear them.. Personally, I love my natural eyelashes.
