I'm Sick of Being Pale!
I'm very pale and I used to have terrible acne. Now I am just left with flat red marks all over my cheeks. I'm sick of being pale and I don't really want to put my skin at risk by tanning outdoors all day. I was wondering if spray tanning would cover these marks or make them more noticeable?
What do you think? Can any of you relate to this issue? What do you suggest?

Ugh, I feel your pain hun. All I know is I use spray on tans. (not thecheap ones you'll turn orange) They are the only thing that doesn't make acne scars red than I know of. Good luck.
i heard sun helps acne?
just put on a lil sunscreen and layout for just 30 minute intervals or something. and moisturize at night
I'm insanely pale but my face is very clear. if you are uncomfortable with it try scar cream or try to get a tan. thats all i can say.
I'm so pale that I glow in the dark, seriously. My husband says it makes me super easy to find at concerts, etc.
I seriously don't care, though. I get zits and red marks and whatever...but I guess I just don't care. I look how I look, never wear makeup, so I'm pretty okay with everything.
@whitetrashpoet@xanga - So I'm not crazy?! I had to meet my best friend at a concert, and I saw this light orb across the stadium for me. When the lights came back on, I recognized her instantly! Yup, that was my Meg. XD
I adore my pale ivory complexion. Though the acne must suck. Only solution I know for that is put yogurt on your face.
The sun isn't really that big of a danger unless you spend too much time out there initially.
More than twenty minutes outside risks burns. And that's the only way you're at risk for skin cancer, is if you get burnt alot. So spend fifteen minutes here and there every day, and gradually you'll get a bit more color to you. The darker you become, the longer you can stay outside without risk of getting burnt.
I've spent most of my life in the sun. I never use sunblock. Granted, my genes mean that I tan REALLY easy, but I lost my skin pigment a few years back and have been struggling to get my dark complection back since. For the first time in my life, I was sunburnt last autumn, and for the second time, I was mildly sunburnt this spring.
The human race got plenty of sun before the invention of sunscreen, darnit. Just be careful, ^_^
I'm very, very pale. I just don't have much acne, and much problem with my skin either. It's natural, I prefer being natural. For your acne however, whenever I get really bad breakouts and it leaves a mark.. I use aloe =) It works like magic!
@Imp_is_lurking@xanga - Yogurt? Really?! That's a new one I heard xD I'll definitely try it if I get any acne scars
mederma works wonders!
for treatment, use aloe.
for coverage, use blemish cream.
I would kill to be pale ; make up looks good on you
story of my life! except i also have a lot of redness from sun damage and broken capillaries. i'm hopefully going to get a laser treatment that's very helpful :] they're a bit expensive, but maybe you can save money up and look into that? :]
Personally, I think pale is beautiful. :)
I have a natural mocha tan. I don't have to think much about 'tanning.' I think pale skin is beautiful. It has a certain glow. Embrace it. (:
But what's wrong with being pale?
Tanning will help blend those scars a little better. Don't bother with spray on tan, that will be very expensive if you do it regularly. You can get some regular sun and still be healthy. : )
Hey! that's Katherine Elizabeth..
i love being pale; its sexy. :) but if it's the scars your worried about, not that i'd know from experiance cause i dont tan ( im a red head ) but my friends who can tan say that they've been able to reduce the apperance of say stretch marks and other scars or w.e through tanning in a tanning bed, which isn't exactly healthy but it can help you get a good base coat to go out in the natural sun witha light sun screen on to just lay out and try and help the situation.
Being pale is hot and looks way more healthy than all those gross fake tans I see people having. Just use concealer and foundation to even out your skin tone. I watch Not What To Wear mainly for the end part when they do the people's make up, they give good tips :)
To tan I used this lotion by dove, but I had to stop using it because it worked a little bit too good on me. Since I am already tan (all year long) I really didn't need much use for it (except for my legs that usually never get sunlight).
Sorry I can't be more of a help, but what about going to a tanning salon? My friend who is very pale goes and she get a pretty nice looking tan.
I'll never be sick of being pale...I LOVE it. I have fairly clear skin though. It definately has off days though...
i love being pale.
@.@ I would kill to be pale... or paler! High School P.E. does not help one bit >.>;; ...
Natural sun actually helps your skin. Despite what some people say, a certain amount of sun is healthy and will help give you at least a bit of nice natural color. The sun can also be good for you skin. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but I feel like my skin is always clearer and nicer in the summer when I'm outside more!
