Product Review: Victoria's Secret Very Voluptuous Lip Plumper
I don’t really need a lip plumper but since it was my birthday & it was on sale, I figured I’d give this a try. That and the others are ridiculously out my price range at the moment!
Victoria’s Secret Very Voluptuous Lip Plumper comes in a sleek silver click pen (I think the picture on the website is treated to show the name on the pen) & it applies like a gloss. The texture is good for me, it’s not super thick but it requires a bit of maneuvering with the pen, so a little goes a long way. I got Bare (clear gloss) but it comes up bright pink when exposed to air & gives the lips a hint of pink color. Not too much, just slightly so it’s good if you want to wear it alone. It smells sweet & has a candy taste but I wouldn’t suggest constantly licking your lips unless you like the tingly sensation & swelling on your tongue…
VS Lip Plumper is hardly a “SHAZAM!! Big lips!!” plumper, but little things mean a lot. It takes a good 2 applications to see a difference but it was good. The dryness went away & it fills in the lip lines like a good balm or gloss would & my lips had a subtle hint of extra roundness to it. I’m happy for a subtle but noticeable change rather than looking like I got sucker punched. Some lip plumpers are too powerful. This you can use any time of day if needed, but for me, the effect lasted a good 6-8 hours. I did my usual overnight test (apply it before bed then check results in the morning). It comes in baby pink or hot pink as well & it’s very moisturizing. The tingle made it feel refreshing on my lips.
This is usually $18 but I got it for $12 on sale. I would recommend this if you’re new to lip plumpers, want just a smoother pout or want to try them out before spending big money. The ingredients didn’t bother me, but as with any product, be careful. They didn’t sting me but some people may hit a new octave if it’s too much on them. If it doesn’t work for you, you’re only $20 (with tax) out the hole. Don’t complain, I know some of you spend more than that on a lipstick or gloss. =P I wish it came in more colors though. It would be nice to have a plumping lip gloss in more wearable shades, but I will buy it again when I run out.
