Here's a great hairdo idea for the weekend, the half up-do! Start by misting your roots with a bit of texturizing spray to give them some texture. Next, create a messy center part and pull back the top layer of hair on each side of your face—the bottom layers should fall over your ears. Then, fasten the pulled-back pieces into a small ponytail just below your crown with a thin elastic. Don't worry if it looks messy, it's supposed to!
What do you think of the half updo? Would you rock it or knock it?

I think it's cute. I'd wear it, but my hair is too short.
? Isn't this one of the most basic hairstyles that everyone knows how to do? The only easier hairstyle I can think of is the ponytail.
I wear my hair like that all the time.
I do it all the time. I love the look.
@Erin_Noelle_20@xanga - haha same.
yeah it's simple and cute. at least puts hair out of my face. i use to do it all the time. but i'm too lazy to even do anything with my hair now haha..
for some reason, I cannot STAND doing the half updo thing on myself. I think it only works with a lot of bang/layer variety. I do not have that, and am not planning on it anytime soon.
Also, anyone remember Elaine on Seinfeld? Yeah, that's what I think of when I think of this style.
of course i would rock it (i just rocked it last week). seeing as it's one of the most basic looks that everyone learns, i'm sure everyone has at least tried it once in their life. i don't neccesarily wear it all the time but it sure helps when you are trying to keep your hair out of your face.
I never wear my hair up...never...
i think everyone knows how to do this one, but, uh, thanks. :o
it's similar to something I do... but I think I'll try jazzing it up with this way. thanks for sharing.
cute.
I don't really like the way it looks on me, but on the girl in the pic it's cue!
My hair is too thin and flat for this to work properly. I either put my hair all up, or all down.
yeah i do the half updo all the time :)
it was how I wore my hair for my junior prom

sorta looks like a bird's nest in the picture, but it was way cuter from the front

I wore my hair like this today! I didn't use a hairtie though. Small clips are easier and help you create that "tossed together" look in an instant, since it's loose but still holds your hair together in the back of your head.
i wear my hair in the half up-do all the time. except i make it cleaner, where my parting and separations are more distinct and neat. i don't think the "messy" look is right for me.
do that all the time. it's simple and nice. :)
my hair is angry at me most of the time (until I get it chemically straightened) so I dont think i can do it. I envy women who can look like they've stumbled out of bed and still look good doing it. with my hair texture, it'd just really look sloppy
it's cute but i use a clip instead :)
Doesn't everyone know how to do this lol?
for me.. instead of pulling it all the way back in a tight elastic band, I use bobby pins to clip it. looks better =]
i do this occasionally.. except into two little pigtails, it's really cute but sometimes people think i'm 14 if i do that
I always do my hair in this style. easy way to get to either look all straight or curly.
If I had longer thicker hair I would!
Is this breaking news? Any human who's been a girl for long enough to be able to read this post knows about this.
Ponytails, half-ponytails, and pigtails aren't hairstyles-- they're just... something to do with the hair.
That's not to say I don't use them on a regular basis, but these instructions were about as useful (useless) as directions on how to make a bowl of cereal.
