Dry shampoo can be a lifesaver for days when you probably should have washed--but didn't. However, sometimes the store bought dry shampoos are not the best. They either leave a white cast on your hair or the cans dry up really quickly. Dry shampoo is a really easy DIY project and is customizable for both dark and light hair with easy ingredients you might have laying around your kitchen.
To make dry shampoo for dark hair you will need...
- 1/2 cup of cornstarch
- 1/2 cup of coco powder
- 5 drops of essential oil (it's your preference I like Lavender)
- a jar
Place all the dry ingredients into the jar, close the lid and shake! Then add the drops of essential oil and stir with a spoon. Once your dry shampoo is complete take a fluffy makeup brush and dust it all along your roots. Let it sit a minute or two so it can soak up the oils and then brush it out.
To make dry shampoo for light hair follow the exact same steps except switch out the coco powder for baking soda.
