Cold air can be rough on skin and hair, especially if you suffer from oily skin. While oils can be a bit expensive, if they help get rid of excess oil and acne, I’d consider that worth the investment! And if you want to stay hydrated but can’t handle heavy moisturizers, here are five oils to keep your skin and hair hydrated and glowing this season…
Claudalíe’s Divine Oil ($32) contains antioxidant grape polyphenols and draining ginkgo biloba, leaving the skin soft, firm and radiant. Perfect as a post-sun product, its delicately perfumed texture is instantly absorbed. It’s also paraben-free and not tested on animals.
Carol’s Daughter Monoi Oil ($30) is a lightweight miracle serum, whose strengthening power comes from Monoi Oil — a sacred Tahitian blend of Tiare Gardenia Flower and Coprah Coconut Oil—counteracts and prevents damage caused by chemical straightening, color-treating, heat-styling, and sun exposure. It helps rebuild the appearance of your hair in a way that won’t wash out or weigh hair down, like silicones do. It is also blended with Mirabelle Plum Seed Oil to restore softness and Kukui and Rose Hip Seed Oils to reduce frizz and boost your hair’s natural shine. Return your hair to its maximum beauty—no matter what you do to it.
Josie Maran’s Argan Oil ($48) is amazing — I can’t get enough! With its multitasking benefits, Argan Oil can be used for many areas including hydrating and nourishing skin, as a daily moisturizer, skin treatment, treating spilt ends and softening cuticles. It’s gentle enough to use on all skin types and is believed to help with skin conditions, including acne.
Tarte’s Pure Maracuja Oil ($17) is an undiluted organic and moisturizing oil that quickly absorbs for firmer, brighter, smoother skin. Pure maracuja oil is rich in vitamin C, so skin appears instantly brighter and more radiant, as well as essential fatty acids (EFAs), a requirement for healthy skin cells that the body cannot produce on its own. EFA deficiency can result in the breakdown of essential skin cells which causes skin to appear dry and aged. By supplementing skin with pure maracuja oil, you are infusing life back into dull skin and replenishing EFAs to rapidly rebuild and repair. This potent anti-aging elixir that has anti-inflammatory benefits promotes active skin recovery and delivers maximum hydration without any greasy or filmy feel. I’d get the rollerball and keep it in my purse!
Bumble & Bumble’s Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil ($38) is a lightweight, quick-absorbing oil that features a luxurious blend of six oils that soften, tame flyaways and add shine immediately and over time. Even frizz and flyaways are dramatically reduced. This formula detangles hair and helps strengthen hair against breakage. It also contains UVA/UVB filters and offers heat styling protection. The clear-as-day formula can be used on all types (and colors) of hair, too!
