As summer nears its conclusion (boo!), I'm softening the blow of impending cooler temperatures by psyching myself up with some new fall beauty looks to experiment with. This crazy crimson take on a smoky eye is one look I would love to replicate at home.
To achieve this look you'll need the following products or anything similar:
- Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H Foundation
- Bobbi Brown Metallic Eye Shadow in Cognac
- Bobbi Brown Metallic Eyeshadow in Burnt Sugar
- Tarte Skinny SmolderEyes Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liner in Moonstone Brown
- Benefit BADgal Lash in Rich Black
- NARS Blush in Amour
- MAC Cremesheen Glass in Richer, Lusher
Apply just enough of a natural-finish, long-wear foundation to even out your skin tone and hide imperfections. With a more bold eyeshadow application, you don't want any other parts of your makeup to look heavy or caked-on.
For the eyes, use a small, fluffy brush and press a shimmery crimson eyeshadow at your lash line and blend up towards the crease. Repeat this for the bottom lash line, stopping your blend about halfway under your under eye area. Use a clean brush to blend out any harsh edges. Press a dab of a medium brown shimmer shadow to the inner corner. I think this step gives a great deal of wearability to this otherwise wacky makeup.
Apply a rich brown, waterproof eyeliner pencil to your upper and lower waterlineand smudge out slightly. Top off the eyes with two coats of volumizing mascara.
Keep the rest of the face simple with a soft peach, matte blush and a dab of a peachy-neutral gloss.
I think this look would be so fun to wear to a show or party; the color is different, yet still has a neutrality to it to keep it from being entirely over the top.
Lovelies, would you wear a crimson smokey eye?
