I don’t know about you, but my hair always seems to fall flat every summer. While it’s easy for us to blame to humidity and heat for our hair woes, it turns out that we could be responsible, too.
1. You desperately need a haircut.
If you’re heading into the summer needing a haircut, it’s probably only going to get worse. Get those dry, dead ends trimmed up and make sure to use a deep conditioning mask at least once a week. If your hair begins to look and feel better, you can cut back the conditioning to once every two weeks, if you like. I recently chopped off a few inches of dead ends, and I can’t tell you how much easier it is to comb through and style every morning.
2. You’re not using your dry shampoo correctly.
I love using dry shampoo over the summer — it’s perfect for those messy second-day hair days. This sounds like a no-brainer, but don’t forget to shake the bottle — it activates the ingredients, so you won’t be left with greasy-looking hair.
3. You’re not using enough product.
Color-treated hair or no, the sun will definitely take away some of your hair’s luster. Make sure to use a good conditioner or oil that will help take your hair back to its gorgeous, shiny state. [via She Finds]
