So this is immediately after my Shiseido Majolica Majorca Mascara review, which is great since that mascara is waterproof.

Last night, I was looking up products to use for removing waterproof makeup as all my products, save for that mascara, are not waterproof. When I was surfing the net, I found that there’s a popular claim that baby shampoo removes waterproof makeup effectively. As I do not own baby shampoo, I used the next best thing, Pantene Pro-V Ice Shine Shampoo.

I swiped a layer of mascara on my hand to show you.

As you can see, it didn’t wipe off completely and I had to rub quite harshly.

I would assume that baby shampoo wouldn’t be as concentrated as adult shampoo so the results might appear worse. Actually, putting shampoo around your eye area is usually not recommended as it is delicate and shampoo is drying.

So let’s look at the next best alternative. Since I don’t use waterproof makeup, like once in a blue moon, I bought a cheap drugstore brand waterproof makeup remover. L’oreal Gentle Waterproof Eye and Lip Makeup Remover.

Anyone who knows me, knows I hate drugstore brands, but this one actually surprised me. It works very well and at a cheap price! It was only $12 CAD.

For those who are new to makeup removal products, always choose one that is hypoallergenic, even if your skin is not sensitive. Chances are the ingredients inside are less harmful and drying to your skin. If you wear contact lens, remember to get one that is safe for contact lens users.

The dark blue liquid on top is supposed to help remove your makeup while the clear liquid on the bottom is supposed to moisturize your skin. Shake before use. You also have to follow-up with your normal cleanser to make sure the makeup remover is also off your skin.

This was just 2 dabs, no rubbing involved.

A fully clean hand.

I tried this out when I removed my mascara and it worked great! I have sensitive skin but it didn’t burn my skin or cause my eyes to go red, whereas most makeup removers do irritate my eyes. It took me 2 facial pads and I did do a little rubbing downwards to get the mascara off and afterward, I found that my eye area was a bit dry so it did dry out my skin a bit, but other than that, it was pretty good.
