I read this interesting article about how the color of lipsticks that are chosen by women can determine the state of the economy or even our moods. Quite interesting!
“Sales of red lipstick, for instance, typically spike during tough economic times and fall as the situation improves. ‘The darker the lipstick, the more consumers can use it since a relatively less amount is needed.’” (Source)
Do you change your lipstick or makeup styles if you are feeling sad, happy, etc? If so, how do you change it and why?

i’m pretty sure it’s just a trend…. no one really thinks about how much lipstick they have to put on with a certain color.

maybe the red/black lipstick reflects stock market trends! or maybe it’s a metaphor for the bloody avarice that we’ve accumulated over the years!
or maybe it’s just random fluctuation. chillax.

I don’t think that the overall consumer’s color choice represents economic status at all. It just so happens that this october nude/orangeish colors were quite in.

That’s really cool info! I didn’t realize red stretched so far although it is quite obvious
